BUNS & MEAT – Pantai Indah Kapuk

Nowadays it’s much easier to find pork dishes in a restaurant in Jakarta. A few years ago, it’s quite hard, unless in a Chinese restaurant. Originally from Kuala Lumpur and after successfully there, Buns & Meat now open their first outlet in Jakarta to offers more than just a burger, it’s amazing pork dishes. One of the best additions you can find in the restaurant flooded Pantai Indah Kapuk.

They have cozy ambiance and nice decoration with beautiful interior design. Their loose furniture, window table bar, and wall decoration are well designed. I’m sure that you will also love this place, especially at the front side which is showered by natural daylight. It’s the place to hang out with friends and family since it’s not a fancy kind of place and everybody loves a good burger!

Deep Fried Roasted Pork Belly & Stir Fried Roasted Pork Belly in Special House Sauce Combination

This one is a combination of deep fried pork belly and stirs fried pork belly in special house sauce. We prefer the first one, especially with the addition of their home-made chili sauce. Damn! it was a great and sinfully dish. The pork belly is really crispy.

For the second one, actually, it’s equally amazing. For more comforting taste, you can add some salad and mayonnaise, and don’t forget to dip in the home-made chili sauce. Trust me, this is the must order in here. The perfect twins that you hardly find anywhere else.

Char Siew Pork Bacon and Cheese Burger

When this burger arriving on my table, I was wide-eyed and really amazed. How come they perfectly combine and fushion-ing pork dishes in western style. Made of sinfully sexy layers, it consists of Pork Char Siew, Pork Bacon, and Sliced Cheese. It’s extremely dayummm… 😀

The best part is pork char siew and super-thick pork patty! Really love their pork char siew which combined really well with mayonnaise, and also the pork patty, it’s really really thick. You must try this by yourself, the most delicious, or maybe almost perfect burger that I have ever tasted. Match them up with some french fries and salad condiment. Yummm… :p

Deep Fried Prawn Tacos

Another photogenic food presentation. Look at the twins prawn! The tacos filled with deep fried prawn, lettuce, spicy mayo and tobiko. Actually, this one is just good, but maybe can not match the rivals (read: another pork dishes) 😀

Benjamin’s Waffle

When the waiter serving dessert on our table, we were surprised! Did you know why? Their fushion-ing not only on the appetizer and main course but also on the dessert. Maybe this is the first time I see the waffle, ice cream, and strawberry served with pork bacon in the same plate! Can you imagine how about the taste of this Benjamin’s Waffle? 😀

This waffle is quite good, consist of pork bacon, maple syrup, strawberry, and vanilla ice cream. Like the waffle as elsewhere. But, I have to admit that their idea to add pork bacon on the dessert was incredible. Two thumbs up!

Bun’s Lemon Blue

Damn, this iced lemon with sparkling soda is really really fresh! A perfect choice and to satisfying your thirst. Recommended drink!

Chili Mojito

For the umpteenth time, we were amazed and this time through a unique drink, Chili Mojito. This one is quite good with refreshing mint and lime flavor. But, i still prefer the Buns’s Lemon Blue :p

Overall, we have a super-satisfied lunch at Bun’s and Meat. Really love their concept and food creation which is fushion-ing pork dishes in western style. Two thumbs up for their food presentation, very good and almost all of dishes are photogenic :D.

As well as the taste of food. We’re so addicted to all their pork dishes, especially the crispy pork belly and pork char siew. And also their home-made Asian chili sauce. Trust me, this is one of the best (or maybe the best) restaurants in Pantai Indah Kapuk, and it will be our first choice to eat in PIK area.
