For those who grew up in Jakarta around the 90s, Gandy Steak House probably means much more than just a regular steak restaurant. Gandy Steak House is one of those Jakarta’s old school steakhouses which you can find at many locations in the city and known for their high-quality steak. Now, they have a new concept called Mucca Steak.
Located on 1st floor of Citywalk Sudirman, Mucca Steak sets the steak house standard in Indonesia by delivering a highly praised menu of high grades meats, seafood, kinds of pasta, and salads. The place was quite nice with wooden furniture and dim lights. The different between Gandy Steak House is, Mucca have a more casual concept and the target market is office people since its located around the office area while Gandy Steak House has a stand alone restaurant. The price in Mucca steak is also lower than Gandy, but they have the same quality of food for sure.
Although it has no outdoor space, they still have a smoking room which is separated by the curtain. Even, they also have a VIP table.
Lychee Iced Tea
We started our lunch with Lychee Iced Tea. It just good with the balanced flavor of tea and lychee and also not too sweet.
US Beef Tenderloin (200 gr)
We choose their signature US Beef Tenderloin (200gr) with medium level doneness. All of their grilled steaks comes with onion, corn, and house special butter. Since the first bite, we are sure that they knew how to cook a steak the right way. Well-marbled beef, season perfectly, and then grilled to perfection. The result is tender, juicy, and rich tasting steak coming out! A proof so you can imagine, just look at the slight hint of pink inside the steak at the photo below.
Sauteed Mix Mushroom
Unlike other steak restaurants, at Mucca Steak can order side dish separately since it’s not included in your steak. There are many healthy choices of side dish such as broccoli, mushroom, sweet corn, buttered rice, etc. We choose their Sauteed Mix Mushroom, it just good but tasted a little bland at the beginning.
Caffe Latte
After had a satisfying main course, we tried their Caffe Latte. All coffees in Mucca use double shot espressos, so they don’t serve weak coffee! Their coffee are from Tanamera Coffee and it’s pretty good, slight creamy and strong coffee.
Cappuccino
Like the Caffe Latte, their Cappuccino is also good and we like it. The coffee tastes stronger since it’s less milk than Caffe Latte. It’s strong enough with the right level of acidity.
Overall, great food and great ambiance. Mucca offers an elegant yet relaxes dining experience, complement by good music, good service. Their steak was insanely good and they also sell many kinds of beers to enjoy your time here. Mucca Steak was definitely an irresistible steak restaurant for steak lovers!
