In past few years, Senopati has become one of the most rapidly growing culinary spots in Jakarta. Wilshire Restaurant & Bar is one of our favorite restaurant in Senopati area since they moved from the previous location in Foundry 8, SCBD area.
Wilshire is located in Senopati street at the second floor of Colette Lola. You can up the stairs in front of the building to the second floor, and then you will be greeted with a very charming atmosphere of the restaurant. The interior design is very lux, classic yet pretty at the same time, and the big rose pattern tiles on the wall and table are beautiful.
Our favorite spot must be the one next to the window, we love how the window was designed to add in that more minimalist feel to the room. The romantic-dark lighting looks sophisticated and makes you lovely to just sit and enjoy the ambiance.
Wilshire’s food and beverages are representing an amalgamation of cultures in Los Angeles. Filled with a cultural mix, Wilshire offers various fusion dishes from western to eastern that can satisfy the appetite of many people. On this February 2017, Wilshire is launching several new menus to further expand the dining experience. The foods combining local flavors with international cuisines to represents Wilshire boulevard ambiance at Los Angeles.
Insane Fried Rice
This is a new twist to traditional Indonesian fried rice that has been known as “Nasi Goreng Gila” topped with sausage, meatballs, and tomato stir-fry. Trust me, this version is so damn good!
Pepper Beef Sirloin Sandwich
A perfect combination of focaccia bread sandwich, containing USDA Prime Sirloin, sauteed mushroom, Monterey jack cheese, fried onion rings, mesclun, and served with chips. It tastes good with soft texture sandwich and juicy beef sirloin.
Chicken Tortilla Soup
A chicken soup made with corn tortillas, red onion, sliced avocado, cilantro, lime, and sour cream. Such a good appetizer with festive sour, savory, and creamy flavor.
Grilled BBQ Chicken Tacos
Another new appetizer addition is Grilled BBQ Chicken Tacos. It is tacos containing guacamole, Monterey jack cheese, red onion, and cilantro. All ingredients are nicely combined and it turns out so good.
Thai Coconut Roasted Pork Ribs
Out of all new dishes, this one has the most beautiful presentation! A main course with prik nahm pla sauce, the classic Thai condiment sauce, and coconut stock cooked with roasted pork ribs. The roasted pork ribs were extremely tender and juicy with a perfect seasoning.
Pan Seared Dory Infused with Passionfruit
A good choice for seafood lovers. Fresh passionfruit sauce poured over pan seared dory and served with potato cubes.
Chocolate Dream
For desserts, this Chocolate Dream comes as the latest addition for chocolate fans because it is made of dark chocolate ganache, chocolate glaze, vanilla ice cream, and chopped with caramelized cashew.
Whisky Shower
As a new addition to their cocktails list, Whiskey Shower is comprised of Frangelico, Speyside Single Malt, and lemon.
Californiacation
Combines triple rum, Absinthe, pineapple, and cranberry, this cocktails is a perfect remedy to wash off burden of the intense week.
Indonesian Lovers
What a unique twist Indonesian style cocktail! It’s a perfect blend of Brandy, chocolate, cream, and tape.
Tropical Rainforest
For non-alcoholic options, there is Tropical Rainforest, a mocktail consisting of strawberry, apple, pineapple, orange, and lemon. It’s really refreshing and we love their beautiful presentation so much!
Bangkok Gateaway
Made from lemongrass, lychee, and apple, this Bangkok Getaway is really refreshing as well as Tropical Rainforest. Really love their ingredients combination which turns out the fresh and sweet flavor, and don’t forget to mention their beautiful presentation!
Overall, we had a great dining experience at Wilshire Restaurant and Bar. The food was nice and the place was gorgeous. They are doing a good job for their new addition with a cultural mix. Well, eating in Wilshire is not cheap, but you get for what you pay. We really love how they offering new and modern food and beverage concept to satisfy their customers. It’s definitely a highly recommended place to have a scrumptious meal in Senopati area.
