In order to welcome the 72nd Independence Day of Indonesia, La Maison has launched the limited and special Indonesian flavors macaron. La Maison is famous patisserie from Medan that is well known for their well crafted Macaron creations. As for now in Jakarta, they have opened permanent stores in Grand Indonesia, Neo Soho, and PIK Avenue.
Actually, we have loved their macaron creations for a long time, especially to their creative unique flavors such as Thai milk tea, salted popcorn, salted egg yolk, and nasi uduk. While for the limited edition of Indonesian Independence day, La Maison launched 4 special Indonesian flavors macaron. There are Mie Goreng, Kepiting Saus Padang, Rendang, and Onde-Onde. (PS: The Independence Day Limited Edition only available in August 2017)

Indonesian most favorite one dish meal, seasoned Mie Goreng white chocolate ganache with caramelized garlic, and crunchy bites of Mie! Such a good creation and yes, you can taste the mie goreng flavor!
Kepiting Saus Padang
We guess no one will think that this flavor will exist before. Hot and spicy Kepiting Saus Padang ganache with chewy crab stick in the center and sprinkled with chili fries. The spicy and sweet flavor is just balance. We love it!
From all the new flavors, this one is our most favorite! Rendang is Minangkabau originated dish that is now claimed world’s number 1 most delicious food. The idea of this flavor is a genius creation and it tastes freaking good as well! Imagine that you can taste the flavor of rendang in a macaron. Have a bite and taste the burst of the divine flavor!
Unlike the rendang flavor, this is our less favorite one. To be honest, the sweet aroma of pandan infused cream is very unique, it combined with melting gula Melaka lava, and covered in crispy toasted coconut. Despite it’s not bad or failed, but we think it’s not as special as the other Indonesian flavors.
The macarons are available in a box of 6 (115k) / 12 (220k) / 18 (330k) / 24 (440k) / 30 (550k), but you can also buy it for IDR 20k each. Overall, we really appreciate that they did a good job to give Indonesian twist in their macarons. The freaking genius and very creative ideas resulting in a unique taste that we never imagined before. Hope they will create another good creation and new flavors in the future!
