Good news for all sushi lovers! A beautiful presentation of sushi is on trend lately, and one of them is the ferris wheel sushi from Teishoku Indonesia. Last weekend, FOOD IN LOVE had a lovely lunch at Tesihoku and we can’t wait to share it with all of you!
Teishoku is a newly opened Japanese restaurant that offers a wide variety of Japanese dishes. Located at Ruko Garden House in Pantai Indah Kapuk, it’s not hard to find this restaurant, as it’s located right next to Cake-a-boo. The restaurant is not too spacious but airy-high ceiling room, with wooden decoration and warm atmosphere in Japanese style.
As a Japanese restaurant, Teishoku has a wide variety of Japanese dishes ranging from appetizers, salad, sashimi, nigiri, salmon roll, curry rice, teishoku, yakimono, sukiyaki, agemono, etc. It’s quite hard to choose what we want to order besides the ferris wheel sushi since all of them looks so tempting. And another one good thing is, you can get the drink (hot/cold ocha) for FREE!
Ferris Wheel Sushi
Yeah, this is it! The main reason we came to Teishoku is for their ferris wheel sushi. You can enjoy sushi in a different way since their sushi is served on a wooden ferries wheel. It’s very interesting and photogenic, isn’t it? To order this, you had to choose how many sushi do you want. The ferries wheel available for 6 and 8 of your sushi selection. And then, you can choose the sushi by yourself to be placed on the ferris wheel.
There are many sushi selections available and the prices vary depending on the item. We decided to order 2 ferries wheel sushi (6 pcs and 8 pcs) and opted for Salmon Mentai Aburi (IDR 23k/2pcs), Salmon Cheese Aburi (IDR 23k/2pcs), Salmon Volcano (IDR 38k/2pcs), Tamago Cheese Aburi (IDR 15k/2pcs), Kani Kama Cheese Aburi (IDR 21k/2pcs), Beef Cheese Aburi (IDR 37k/2pcs), and Unagi (IDR 38k/2pcs).
Surprisingly, almost all sushi we’ve ordered was fresh and tasted delicious. We can say that they’re not only selling good presentation, but the quality of their sushi was very good and beyond our expectation. The salmon was really fresh while the cheese and mentai sauce were tasty and perfectly paired with salmon, kani kama, tamago, and beef.
Our most favorite sushi falls to Salmon Volcano and Beef Cheese Aburi. The salmon lava was the bomb when it melts in your mouth with it juicy salmon and mentai sauce. As for beef cheese aburi, it such a perfect combination of sliced beef and cheese. It tastes like the cheese burger in a good way, with flavorful beef and savory cheese.
Bibimbap
Quite a surprise when we found Bibimbap on the menu, and maybe this is the one and only Korean dishes here. Bibimbap is a Korean mixed rice and this Dolsot Bibimbap is served as a hot stone pot of warm white rice topped with beef, namul (sautéed and seasoned vegetables), gochujang (chili pepper paste), and egg. Surprisingly, it tastes good and very likes it. Maybe the best bibimbap town, better than the one we tried at Chung Gi Wa and Gogung in Seoul.
It arrived on our table with a rainbow colorful array of toppings over rice. The rice was slightly crispy, and the veggies and sauces all had excellent flavor. The sauce was a sweet chili paste (gochujang) and there was an excellent flavor of sesame oil in the mix. We really like the sesame aroma which gives a better taste and make it flavorful.
Salmon Skin
Every time we eat sushi at a Japanese restaurant, we usually look for salmon skin and luckily they have it on the menu. But unfortunately, we don’t really like their salmon skin. Besides its tastes bland and too salty, the texture was very tough and hard. It’s more like crackers, too crispy and hard without any seasoning.
Overall, we had a great experience at Teishoku. Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, fresh ingredients, good sushi, unique presentation, and affordable price are the more than enough reason to visit Teishoku. So, if you looking for a Japanese restaurant in PIK area, Teishoku is recommended and worth to visit!
