Japanese food never bores us. We can have it everyday without getting bored, especially sushi. And this time we are going to share our dining experience at Kiyadon Sushi, a Japanese restaurant that is specialized in Sushi. Opened their first outlet in April 2001, now they have 6 outlets in Indonesia, which are in Emporium Mall Pluit, Senayan City, Pacific Place, Mall Taman Anggrek, Grand Indonesia, and Baywalk Mall.
When we first walked into the restaurant, we really love the ambiance of this resto. The interior design is dominated by wood elements that represent the feel of a typical Japanese style. Wood-partition screen on window is very nice and make the dining area are bright with natural light but not dazzled.
Besides the table dining area, Kiyadon Sushi also have a sushi bar with sushi belt on the other side. It’s located in front of open kitchen where the chef making the sushi in front of the bar.
We started our meal with Kiyadon’s Signature Sushi, DIG Mix Roll Sushi. Damn, its a good sushi! It freshly made from kani stick, kyuri (cucumber), and topped with salmon, chicken floss, and tobiko (fish roe).
Because we have seen the making process by ourselves directly and their chef preparing the sushi in front of us, so we know that they use only high quality and fresh ingredients. We really recommend you to relish the pleasure of their signature sushi.
The salmon was fresh, and sushi rice was cooked and seasoned nicely. Another thing that we love from this Kiyadon’s signature sushi is the proportion between sushi rice and salmon topping. As you can see from the pictures, the fish topping of DIG Mix Sushi was very generous with thick and long cut.
And the best part of this making process is when the chef torched the salmon on top of sushi.. Dabomb!!! A big fire swept the surface of salmon topping directly until it’s done. It’s sushi on fire…!!!
The second dishes are Nabeyaki Udon. Udon noodle cooked with sweet sliced beef, vegetables, egg, shiitake mushroom, bamboo sprout, and served with negi (scallion) and prawn tempura. The noodle was really tender. And the soup was savory with the right level of sweet and salty. If you like spicy, the addition of chili powder made the udon noodle soup tasted even more delicious and rich.
This Nabeyaki Udon is Kiyadon’s signature nabemono (Japanese hot pot dishes) and this one is also recommended! Don’t forget to complete your pleasure with their prawn tempura. Dip it into the soy sauce with chili powder, or wasabi to accompany your udon.
The next course was Agedhasi Tofu, deep fried bean-curd with tempura sauce and the bonito shave on top. The tofu is deep fried, and we really love the soft texture of the tofu, chewy flour-skin outside and soft tofu inside . It also matches with bonito shaved and negi on the top.
To clean the palate, we have Macarena. A mocktail that consist of pineapple, mango, lime, and water melon juice. It’s really a refreshing drink. A perfect combination of the fruits, especially we love the mango and pineapple combination. Sluurrrppp… :p
Overall, we have a great dining experience at Kiyadon Sushi both the food and the place. Truly love all of the dishes, especially their signature DIG Mix Sushi Roll and Macarena. It’s definitely a recommended restaurant for all Japanese food lover!
