In the recent years, many new coffee shop have been popping up with stronger and better concept. Almost all over area in Jakarta, from downtown to suburbs, we can find lots of exciting new coffee shop to explore. Last weekend, we visited recently opened coffee shop, Ottoman’s Coffee Brewers in Pluit, North Jakarta. Located strategically in Pluit area, across Bakpau A1 and Bank Danamon, Ottoman’s Coffee Brewer is the strong contender for another Coffee Shop in North Jakarta area. To get there you can easily follow the map below.
One of the main factors for us to visit a coffee shop, we must say that besides the quality of the coffee, the decor or ambiance of the coffee shop itself also matters since a cozy place can give us good mood and great time. And we loved the interior concept of Ottoman’s Coffee, the place is nicely decorated. It’s a good place for meeting, work, and have small talk or chit chat.
Interior wise, Ottoman’s is dominated by simple minimalist design with clean palette and retro style, what an instagenic space. Actually, the place is not really big, but pretty comfortable and spacious. You can have your coffee just by the bar, or even in their mini outdoor space for an open air and sun light experience. I would recommend this space after 4 PM or else, you might get quite tanned then!
Ottoman’s Coffee is specialized in espresso based coffee, other than that they also one of the very few coffee shop to serve an all-day breakfast menu, or if you prefer the trending word at the moment, we can call it brunch instead of breakfast. They also serve cold pressed juice and flavored tea. To accompany their coffee, there were some selection of healthy brunch menu along with granola smoothie bowls.
Cappucino
Ottoman’s use common grounds for the coffee beans. You can have your coffee in three size options (4oz, 5oz, 6oz) with the choices of milk texture, thst is latte, flat white, or cappuccino. Their cappucino usually comes in the regular 5oz cup. Short to say, the coffee was nice with a mild flavor and not too acidic, it was pretty enjoyable.
Piccolo Latte
If you need a really kick-in coffee, you can order their Piccolo Latte. It comes in a 4oz cup with a stronger taste of espresso. As i mentioned above, their have three size options and all of them had one shot of espresso, with more milk for 5oz and 6oz cup. FYI, you can request extra shot espresso for IDR 5,000.
Eggs Benedict
Since you want some brunch menu, Eggs Benedict would be a perfect choice. Two poached eggs with pork (or beef) bacon, infused spinach, and avocado topped with homemade hollandaise sauce on artisan ciabatta bread with garden salad on the side. Unfortunately, the poached eggs was not as runny as I wanted it though, but i really love their homemade hollandaise sauce. It’s rich of egg and butter, savory yet not too salty. This one is our favorite here.
Avocado Toast
Consists of smashed avocado, corn puree, pesto, and two poached eggs on artisan ciabatta bread, it’s going to spoil fans of avocado to the full. It’s also comes with sauteed mushroom on the side. To be honest, this one was not memorable, but we love their sauteed mushroom which tastes a little bit salty… 😀
Granola Smoothies Bowl
This smoothies based breakfast is healthier options besides the two above. Perfect for meal replacement or pre/post workout. The smoothies topped with homemade granola, coconut flakes, and assorted fruits. We tried the Red Smoothies Bowl that consists of Dragon Fruit, Papaya, Raspberry, and Banana.
For another options, there is Yellow (Mango, Pineapple, Banana) and Green (Avocado, Spinach, Banana) smoothies bowl. Even-though i’m not a fan of smoothie bowl, this one doesn’t disappointing. We love their coconut flakes which standout from another toppings and it’s well balanced between sweetness and creaminess. Maybe i’ll try their yellow smoothies bowl next time since i’m a big fan of mango and pineapple. The only thing I expected more is for that to be colder.. 😀
Fresh Cold Pressed Juice
After enjoying their coffee with some brunch menu, don’t forget to have their homemade cold pressed juice to clean the palate and enhance your experience. They have 4 kinds of fresh cold pressed juice, there is Red (apple, beetroot, carrot, dragon fruit), Orange (apple, carrot, strawberry, lemon), Yellow (pineapple, mango, lemon, apple), and Green (cucumber, mint, pineapple).
We had the Yellow one, it was really good, very fresh, and we could taste that they don’t put (or at least, not too much) additional sugar and water inside. It was quite thick and fruity. We also bought the Red one to take away. It’s truly a refreshing drink to cool us down… 😀
Overall, nice coffee, lovely space, and the price was acceptable. Ottoman’s Coffee offers great ambiance for you to have a small talk with your friends, or enjoy your me-time since they have free WiFi while enjoying coffee and have a brunch. We must say that Ottoman’s Coffee is definitely a recommended coffee shop in North Jakarta that redefining your experience of caffeine intake.
