Malaysian and Asian cuisine would have been familiar to us. The similarity of spices and flavors make it much liked by Indonesian. If you’re looking for a cozy and casual place to enjoy the Malaysian and Asian cuisine, City Stop Cafe would be a great choice. Located in a bustling and busy traffic area, City Stop Cafe brings the concept with overview city activities.
When entering the cafe, you’ll find a unique interior design with the mural that depicting the atmosphere of the city. There are murals depicting the landmark of Jakarta, Taipei, and Kuala Lumpur. This is in accordance with the food they serve, which is a combination of Malaysian, Taiwanese, and Indonesian cuisine. The space is quite small but cozy enough to hang out and have a chitchat with friends. They have also many electricity sockets in every spot, so don’t need to worry in case you want to charge your smartphone or laptop. The rooms are equipped with AC, so it’s pretty cool despite the hot weather outside, and there is also a smoking area.
Sweet Blue Happiness
We started our lunch with Sweet Blue Happiness, a refreshing drink with bubble gum flavor. The combination of bubble gum and milk was refreshing, but it tasted too sweet for me
Ice Horlicks
Needing extra energy for your tiring day? Horlicks is a malted milk drink that energizes your body. Consists of milk and cereal, it will make your body feel refreshed.
Affogato
If you need some caffeine intake yet still refreshing, you can have their Affogato. This coffee-based dessert takes the form of two scoops of vanilla ice cream topped with a shot of espresso. It will be a good choice to fulfill your caffeine dose besides a cup of coffee.
Nachos
From many appetizers that available on the menu, this one looks the most tempting. Nachos with a creative twist of City Stop Cafe style. It’s suitable for those who like to try new unique things.
Fan Thuan
Fan Thuan comes from Mandarin means a breakfast food that is big bundle of sticky rice filled with meat or floss. In City Stop Cafe, it’s a Taiwanese traditional sushi roll with crunchy fritters, meat floss, and wrapped in traditional special sauce and mozzarella topping. An interesting fusion indeed.
Grilled Crispy Chicken
One of most famous street food in Taiwan is Extra Large Crispy Chicken (Read our blog post about Taiwanese Fried Chicken here). In City Stop Cafe, they also have this famous Taiwanese snack. This is crispy chicken grilled with house special sauce. It tastes sweet yet savory and crispy. Love it!
Mozzarella Crispy Chicken
Another creation of Taiwanese Crispy Chicken. The crispy chicken topped with mozzarella and baked to perfection. It’s so damn good! It tasted salty with mozzarella flavor. In our personal taste, we prefer to this ‘salty’ one compared to grilled crispy chicken which tasted sweet. One bit and it will get you hooked!
Chili Pan Mee Soup Special
Here it is! The signature dish from City Stop Cafe. Pan Mee is a Hakka-style noodle, originated from Malaysia. Its Chinese name literally translates to “flat flour noodle”. They give you special authentic Malaysian Pan Mee with special salted egg broth to enlighten your day. It’s crazily good especially the noodle texture and thick broth with creamy yet savory soup. The egg yolk is also looked tempting, right? Don’t forget to stir it well before you enjoy your Pan Mee. FYI, Chili Pan Mee Special is also available in Dry noodle, but we highly recommend you to their Soup noodle since it tastes better with thick broth and creamy soup.
Chili Pan Mee Mozzarella
Another dry version of Chili Pan Mee. This is original Malaysian Pan Mee topped with mozzarella cheese. The added saltiness of the mozzarella makes this pan mee tastes better! This is recommended as well as Chili Pan Mee Special.
Mee Goreng “Mamak” Style
This is Malaysian traditional fried noodle with traditional sauce and topped with melted mozzarella cheese. It’s such a perfect combination for us since we are a fried noodle and mozzarella lover. A fusion menu of Mee Goreng that you hardly find anywhere else.
Nasi Lemak Special City Stop
For the lovers of Malaysian cuisine, surely you would be familiar with Nasi Lemak. The fragrant coconut rice, served with sambal ikan bilis, fresh cucumber slices, roasted peanuts, hard-boiled egg, and chicken thigh. It would be a good choice if you’re looking for a heavier meal.
Fu Cuk Yi Mai
This is a traditional Chinese dessert. Fu Cuk means beancurd sheets and Yi Mai is Barley in Cantonese. It consists of beancurd with combination of ginko seed and barley. To be honest, we don’t like this one. Bur for those who love Chinese dessert will love this too I think.
Mochi Waffle
Crispy on the outside, chewy in the middle. It’s a perfect combination of waffle and mochi, topped with ice cream, corn flakes, and chocolate sauce.
City Stop Delight
A lovely signature dessert from City Stop Cafe. It is a french toast / waffle topped with marshmallow and cereal drenched with chocolate sauce. Yummy!
Overall, City Stop Cafe offers a good concept of Malaysian and Asian cuisine. We love both the food and the place. They offers a good quality of food with the reasonable price. The place itself is also cozy for hang out or to have small talks with friends.
