Kyochon is known as one of the best Korean Fried Chicken in South Korea. Korean Fried Chicken has become a food phenomenal of sorts in many parts of Asia, with many Chimaek shops flourishing. It seems like Kyochon is chosen as the Best Chicken Restaurant by South Koreans for 15 consecutive years. Being endorsed by a Korean celebrity like Lee Min Ho helped propel its popularity. In Indonesia, Kyochon now has many outlets and one of them was in Pacific Place Mall, South Jakarta.

Earlier we thought that Kyochon is a quite big restaurant since they are located in Pacific Place, a middle up shopping mall in Jakarta. Surprisingly, they only have a small counter of cashier and kitchen, while all the dining area located on the island. But the place is not too small, we can say that the ambiance and service were good enough.

Kyochon has 3 types of fried chicken to offer. The original soy series, red series, or honey series. The chicken pieces in wings or drumstick, and cooked in a double-frying method which renders it super crispy and not greasy.  After the double-frying method, it’s tossed in a glaze or sauce. Each fried chicken series are available in wings, drumstick, and whole. You also can choose the size to order. There is small, medium, and large portion. For chicken wings, there is small (5pcs), medium (10 pcs), and large (20 pcs). The size for drumsticks is small (2 pcs), medium (4pcs), and large (6 pcs). While the for whole chicken, you choose either whole or half.

Kyochon Red Series

The red series are glazed with the original hot sauce made from Korea’s hottest chili pepper. The chicken skin was really crispy and coated with a good licking sauce. It’s well combined with mustard sauce.

Kyochon Honey Series

We found that this is our most favorite and we highly recommend this to you! Marinated 24 hours in their special seasonings, the fried to perfection and coated with natural honey sauce. Super crispy skin, honey seasoning, and juicy chicken are definitely the killer combination which tastes sweet and delicious. Heaven on earth!

Salsal Chicken Strips

Besides the original, red, and honey series, Kyochon also has the Salsal series. It is boneless chicken breast strips coated in special rice batter, that you won’t find anywhere else. It also comes with special dipping sauce. To be honest, it’s just and good and not memorable for us.

Garlic Butter Rice

In addition, you can order side dish as companion to enjoy your fried chicken. There is potato wedges, french fries, garlic butter rice, butter rice, and plain rice. The one we ordered is garlic butter rice. The garlic butter flavoring was super fragrant and it tastes very good with a little bit salty.

Overall, Kyochon offers the best quality Korean fried chicken. We truly love how they serve it with a double-frying method, which produces juicy and crispy fried chicken with perfect seasoning and rich with flavor. We’ll come back for sure!
