Say hello to Asia’s Number 1 chain restaurant that serves authentic all you can eat Shabu-Shabu and Sukiyaki, Mo-Mo Paradise! After success in Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, China, Vietnam, and Cambodia, Mo-Mo Paradise finally opens their first outlet in Indonesia, precisely in the restaurant flooded Pantai Indah Kapuk. It’s located at Ruko Crown Golf and same row with Buns & Meat and Hello Kitty Cafe.
On last Wednesday, FOOD IN LOVE were invited to their exclusive preview before they open for public on 23rd January 2017. The place is quite spacious and the design is simple yet pretty nice. All the waitress was very kind and friendly in serving the costumers.
With all you can eat concept, Mo-Mo Paradise offers a large variety of vegetable which is available at the “Vegetable Market” buffet. There is also a mixed salad bar and beverage corner that you can choose and do self-service. Many vegetable and beverage you can pick from the buffet area, but I personally think that they also need provide the sauce dressing and seasoning (garlic, leek, chili pepper, etc.) in the buffet area so we don’t to call the waiters many time for refill.
The vegetable selection that you can choose is cabbage, ginseng leaves, onion, carrot, corn, lenkon, paprika, seaweed, tofu, banuonegi, mimoji oroshi, and mushrooms such as shitake, enoki, eringim and simeiji.
For the meat, there are 2 options available, Wagyu and US Beef. The all you can eat shabu-shabu costs IDR 158,000++ (lunch) and IDR 198,000++ (dinner) for US Beef, and IDR 248,000++ (lunch) and IDR 348,000++ (dinner) for Wagyu. Their signature is the Wagyu which consists of Wagyu Chuck Roll and Wagyu Brisket Point End while the US Beef consists of US Chuck Eye Roll and US Short Plate. In addition, there is also Gyutan or beef tongue to accompany the meat.
Mo-Mo Paradise has three selection of soup available, Shabu-Shabu (original broth), Sukiyaki (sweet and salty), and Kimchi (sour and spicy). We’ve tried all the soup, and our favorite is Sukiyaki and Kimchi. The Shabu-Shabu soup tastes bland and lack of broth flavor. The Sukiyaki soup is the best, it was very tasteful and bold in flavor while Kimchi was spicy and has a nice comforting taste.
For the sauce, there is Ponzu shoyu sauce (sweet and sour) and Gomadare (sesame sauce) for Shabu-Shabu. In addition, you can also add green onion. Another sauce is Sukiyaki sauce, which made from Daidai, a Japanese citrus that has been fermented for 100 years to keep the authentic sukiyaki taste. And the last one is Kimchi sauce, which fit for beef with kimchi soup.
To eat shabu-shabu, just take a slice of meat and swish it back and forth in the boiling soup. Cook it for a few seconds and dip the roasted sesame dressing and/or soy sauce dressing. And the best way to eat Sukiyaki beef is to dip in Omega 3 egg. The beef or wagyu is better in medium cooked in Sukiyaki soup, so it’s still juicy and tender. After that, just dip the beef with omega 3 egg and the taste is dabomb! Surprisingly, it’s a heavenly combination!
To accompany the soup and meat, there is also Shirataki (yam noodle), Harusame (vermicelli), Udon, and Ramen. We found out that ramen and udon were really good. It has soft and firm texture and doesn’t absorb water so it doesn’t swell even if cooked in a rather long time
Another exciting part that we personally love is the desserts, they have a small little mochi with red bean and green tea flavor, and ice cream with red bean and lemon flavor. The mochi was equally good while the red bean ice cream is better than the lemon ice cream with the softer texture.
Overall, we had a satisfying lunch at Mo-Mo Paradise. Great variety of meat and vegetable, well made and addictive soup that is full of pleasant aroma from the use of finest ingredients, especially the Sukiyaki and Kimchi Soup. It’s perfect option to warm the body up during the rainy season. Last but not least, congratulations for the Grand Opening of Mo-Mo Paradise in Indonesia as their 68th store worldwide! Keep up the good work and best of luck going forward!
FYI: Mo-Mo Paradise in other country have 5 kinds of soups. That is Tonkatsu and Soya Bean which hasn’t available in Indonesia, but the restaurant has confirmed that both of them will be available soon in Indonesia. Can’t wait!
