In the last few years, Bandung has evolved and become the home of many instagramable cafe and restaurants. Especially in the northern part of Bandung, which is hillier than other parts of the city, there are many cafes and restaurants who offer a stunning and beautiful city view as the main attraction. One of them is Dago Bakery, which located at Kawasan Wisata Punclut, Bandung.
Kawasan Wisata Punclut is an area in Bandung where about 15 restaurants are located side to side and each restaurant offers a view of the green valley and Bandung city view. Dago Bakery is one of these restaurants, it has three levels with outdoor and indoor tables.
To visit the restaurant, you need to pay IDR 5,000 per person, and in return, you’ll get the meal voucher with the same value. The restaurant is very spacious with a lot of seating area spread on several spots, each with a beautiful view and great atmosphere and we settled a table outside at the open space.
The main attraction at Dago Bakery is their iconic European castle model building with medieval gate. The place was packed full with visitors, most of them were only to take pictures in the castle with green valley background.
Besides the iconic castle, there’s also an open viewing deck with some photo spots and it’s also become the favorite area for customers to take the pictures. The building itself has a good design with much open space, viewing area, and unique decoration.
As for the food, we opted for banana fritters, black coffee, and cappuccino. I’m pretty sure that most people come here not for the food, but to enjoy the view and instagramable photo spot. The foods were just okay and nothing special, and the coffee is ordinary as well. The price is reasonable though, but the downside is the service, we need to wait around 30 minutes for the food to come out, and the waiters really busy and not paying attention when I ask for napkins, sugar, etc.
Overall, Dago Bakery is worth the hype with their beautiful view, unique design, and decoration, and have many photo spots to take beautiful instagramble pictures. It’s a recommended place to visit if you want to enjoy the cold mountain breeze with a beautiful view of the green valley and Bandung city, but don’t expect too much for the foods.
