[TAIWAN] SHILIN NIGHT MARKET (士林夜市) – Taipei
Taipei is inarguably one of the top street food cities in the world. Taiwan is known as the land of snacks: they have literally invented and re-invented genre after genre of snack food over the years. From pearl tea to fried chicken, the Taiwanese are all about inventing and perfecting the ultimate snack foods. The catch with Taipei street food, though, is that almost all of it is nocturnal. You can find some stalls during the day but 99% of the street food options don’t come out until late afternoon and evening when the night markets begin to spring to life. Food Fighters is a hangout spot and food arcade that filled with freshest street stalls under one roof. Food Fighters located at Melawai Area in Blok M, South Jakarta (near FaveHotel) and it’s actually owned and managed by the same management who manage Fave Hotel and Oey Kopitiam.
PASKAL FOOD MARKET – Pasir Kaliki, Bandung
Besides being famous for its natural attractions, Bandung is also known for its culinary spots. Located in Pasir Keliki near Bandung Station, Paskal Food Market has more than 100 food vendors, ranging from traditional food a la Bandung to international ones from Japan and Korea. With the alfresco or outdoor concept, you will be spoiled by the cool breeze from the city of Bandung accompanied by delicious warm food.
WARUNK UPNORMAL – Tebet
The highly famous Warunk Upnormal originated in Bandung is finally opened their new outlet in Jakarta and Tangerang. If you guys follow our instagram, then you surely know that last weekend we had visited Warunk Upnormal for their Grand Opening of the new outlet in Tebet, South Jakarta. Compared with their outlets in Jalan Cihampelas, Bandung that I visited a few years ago, their new outlet now has a stronger and better concept.
[SINGAPORE] MAKANSUTRA GLUTTONS BAY – Esplanade
Local street food is a must try when you visit Singapore. One of the best places to enjoy Singapore local street food is in Makansutra, a Food Center with a large number of hawkers to indulge in a variety of local street food such as satay, chili crab, oyster omelet, and fried carrot cake. Makansutra Glutton’s Bay gives diners a taste of local food with a spectacular view of the Marina Bay skyline.
