Curry Chicken Noodles is one of those local hawker dishes that are familiar among Singaporean. During my #FoodInLoveSINGAPORE , I have tried a bowl of curry chicken noodle from Sheng Kee Curry Chicken Noodle at Berseh Food Center.
In front of the stall, you can see fresh poached chicken in pieces and three types of noodles to choose, there are vermicelli (beehon), rice noodle, and egg noodle. There is also a large pot of curry filled with ingredients will entice you even from afar with its fresh-cooked aroma.

The curry chicken noodle was served in piping hot curry soup that was fragrant, medium-bodied and mildly spicy. Basically it is consists of your choice of noodle, large chunks of poached chicken, taupok, bean sprout, fish cakes, and pieces of soft potatoes.
Let’s start from the main part of the dish, the curry soup. The curry has mild flavor and not that overpowering yet still aromatic and flavorful. Honestly said, I personally expect a more thick and strong curry flavor but it’s still enjoyable though.
For more comforting taste, I recommend you to add spoons of chili. The chili is not spicy at all, so don’t worry if you’re not a spicy lover. Even though it’s not spicy for me, but it worked better for me.
As for the chicken, it is mainly chicken breast without the skin. I have to admit that the chicken is my most favorite part, it is extremely juicy and tender. This proves that what is said by uncle that his poached chicken was truly fresh.
Other ingredients like fish cake, taupok, and soft potatoes are also very good, especially the taupok. It is soft, soggy, and limp in a good way while the fish cake and soft potatoes are soft, soak up the flavors of the curry and well combined with the noodles and other ingredients.
Overall, curry chicken noodle is one of recommended hawker foods you must try in Singapore. Its comforting flavor with generous portion of chicken and noodle at affordable price is truly a good deal!
