A good news for all steak lovers, Mockingbird has opened their new restaurant at ShopHaus Menteng on this early December. Different with the previous concept, this time Mockingbird offers a menu ranging from appetizers, comfort foods, steak, and dessert that you can choose as you wish

ShopHaus itself is a unique culinary spot located in Jalan Teuku Cik Ditiro, Menteng. It ‘s consists of 2 floors with 5 brands and one of them is Mockingbird, which located on 2nd floor. We are really like their concept that uses a simple design and maximize open space that was illuminated by direct sunlight during the day. Space feels very spacious and homey with the using of natural elements of design such as vegetation, wooden grating, and wooden furniture at the ground floor dining area, which has two stories high void with a glass roof.

Mockingbird is located on 2nd floor, and you can go up there by a white circular staircase. The interior design was very nice, clean, and beautiful with natural and white vibes. With the concept that blends with Shophaus, it feels very homey and cozy with many instagenic spot. It also has the outdoor area for smoking and we truly love all the ambiance.

With “The Fine Dining Steak” concept, Mockingbird offers many western dishes especially steak, with an affordable price so it can be enjoyed by anyone. Their Steak specialty is serving in many cooking styles that you can choose from European style, Japanese style, Brazilian style, French style, and Holycow style! (since they’re in the same group and owner of Steak Hotel by Holycow!)

US Black Angus Sirloin 300 gr with European Style

The European style is served with portobello & champignon mushroom reduction with potato gratin and micro green salad with balsamic vinegar. We ordered medium well sirloin so it’s really tender and juicy. Perfectly combined with the sauce and potato gratin. It turns out so good!

Mix Berries Mille Feuille

Mille Feuille is a french style pastry. It’s made up of three layers of puff pastry, alternating with two layers of pastry cream. The top pastry layer is topped with fresh strawberry. It’s served in a beautiful plating with strawberry sauce and flower petals. To be honest, it tastes so so and nothing special for us.

Sunday Beach

It’s a refreshing mocktails with the combination of mango juice, orange juice, strawberry fruit, and passion fruit. Not too sweet but really refreshing to energize your body.

Overall, Mockingbird offers a Fine Dining concept of steak and western cuisine at an affordable price. Really love all aspect of the restaurant, the place, the food, ambiance, and service. It’s definitely a highly recommended place where you can enjoy a more casual concept of fine dining with you friends or family.
