In the super rapidly changing Korea, we get to see new trends and new items every day, including their street food. During our #FoodInLoveKOREA trip, one of our best findings is Steak & Beer in a cup from “Me? Steak!” in Hongdae area. These “Street Steakhouses” that sell properly grilled steak in a cup is the recently rising dining trend in Korea, just like soft serve milk ice cream not long ago.

“Me? Steak!”” is one of these street steakhouses and located right at Wausan-ro in Hongdae area where many other small street food shops are gathered around. Even though the shop is quite small, their shop front is pretty catchy with a fun and eye-catching orange color.

Although the highlight in here is their Cup Steak, there is also the Single, Drink Combo, and Beer Combo package. Single means steak only without the drink while Drink Combo is soft drink + steak and Beer Combo is beer + steak. You also can order drink and beer only without steak. For steak selection, there are Beef Steak, Pork Steak, Chicken Steak, and Hamburg Steak.

Once you order your steak combo here, they will give you a grilled steak, freshly grilled to order, with some potatoes and veggies on the top part of the cup and then your choice of beverage in the lower part of the cup. As expected, our “steak cup” was served with lovely grilled hamburg steak with some waffle fries and steam veggies on the side with the orange soda down below.

Taste wise, the hamburg steak was extremely juicy and well seasoned. The potatoes and veggies were fresh and tasty while the sauce was also yummy which was enough to give a decent flavor and scent. It turns out so good and beyond our expectation!

Overall, steak in a cup is such a unique and interesting snack that we found in Seoul and “Me? Steak!” did a good job, not only the beautiful packaging and presentation but also the steak was quite good for a street shop. This is a good place to pop in and try a few pieces of steaks even though it isn’t somewhere for a heavy meal. But still, it’s a satisfying snack for us!

Take exit 1 of Sangsu Station (Subway Line 6), go straight for 230m to the north. The shop is located on your left, at the intersection of Wausan-ro and Wausan-ro 13-gil.
