Bukchon Son Mandu is a very popular Mandu (dumpling) place which famous amongst locals and tourists who highly raved for their delicious dumplings. This famous restaurant in Seoul serves mandu dumplings, both steamed and fried. Besides dumpling, they also serve cold noodle, chopped noodle, and dumpling soup.

The must try here will be Steamed Dumplings Pork/Kimchi (KRW 3,500 / 3 pcs), Fried Dumplings Pork/Japchae (KRW 3,500 / 3 pcs), and Ball Dumplings (KRW 4,500 / 9 pcs). Since we want to try all of them, we ordered Combination Dumplings (KRW 8,000) that consists of 3 steamed dumplings, 3 fried dumplings. and 3 ball dumplings. There is also shrimp dumplings that we didn’t try.

Combination Dumplings (KRW 8,000)

However, we were surprised by the portion though as it’s quite big. It was definitely meant to be shared. Both the steamed and fried dumplings were crazily good, especially the fried one. Fried dumpling was amazing, it had more texture due to the crispy bite and we also impressed the soft skin texture of the steamed dumplings. Don’t forget to dip the mandu into the soy sauce provided because it will make it tastes even better. And the rest, ball dumplings were not memorable for us.

Overall, Bukchon Son Mandu is considered one the best places in Seoul for mandu. The dumplings were flavourful, and the filling had good proportions of meat and vegetables. So if you’re going to Seoul, be sure to try it out! They also have branches in Insadong, Sinchon, and Dongdaemun.
